However, you do need a 110v GFCI outlet to plug the pump into. All you need to do is assemble your fountain, fill it with water, plug in the pump, and enjoy![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row inverse=””][vc_column][trx_title type=”4″ position=”top” top=”small” bottom=”tiny”]Can I use a solar powered pump since I do not wish to run electric to the area?[/trx_title][vc_column_text]All fountains can be powered by a solar pump. It is NOT recommeded. We do not commonly stock them. We can order them for you. They will not be covered under any warranty nor will we be responsible for the performance they produce.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row inverse=””][vc_column][trx_title type=”4″ position=”top” top=”small” bottom=”tiny”]Do I need to pour a concrete pad for my fountain?[/trx_title][vc_column_text]Although a concrete pad under your fountain is ALWAYS recommended for stability, it may not always be necessary. It depends on the style of the fountain (fountains without bottom ponds often require a foundation in most cases.) and the stability of the ground where the fountain is going to be placed. Make sure you place your fountain on a firm, level surface that will remain that way even when it becomes wet from rain or splash. Some of the time going without a foundation is okay. The choice is up to you. Pot Farm Backyard or the install crew will not held responsible for you decision.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row inverse=””][vc_column][trx_title type=”4″ position=”top” top=”small” bottom=”tiny”]How often do I have to fill my fountain?[/trx_title][vc_column_text]Assuming your fountain has been properly assembled, it may lose water due to evaporation and splash. It may be necessary to add water as much as twice a week or more depending on the outdoor temperature and the style of the fountain. Some fountain styles tend to splash more than others, and therefore need to be refilled more often. Many of our customers run a drip irrigation line to their fountain and refill it every time they water, automatically![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row inverse=””][vc_column][trx_title type=”4″ position=”top” top=”small” bottom=”tiny”]How do I keep the water in my fountain clean?[/trx_title][vc_column_text]The water in your fountain will turn green due to algae growth. This occurs naturally in almost all fountains, especially when the weather warms up. Use water treatments such as an algaecide, which kill the algae in the water. This product, which needs to be applied to the water periodically according to the instructions, is safe for birds and dogs, but not for fish. NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE SHOULD YOU USE CHLORINE THIS CHEMICAL WITH DESOLVE THE CEMENT AND EAT THE COMPONETS.  POTFARM BACKYARD WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU USING SUCH CHEMICAL.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row inverse=””][vc_column][trx_title type=”4″ position=”top” top=”small” bottom=”tiny”]What’s the difference between concrete stain and acid reactive finishes? Is one better than the other?[/trx_title][vc_column_text]All of our finishes are very durable, so there is no difference in quality. While our standard finishes are either paints or washes, our premium finishes are surface-applied stains that actually react with the concrete to give it color. These stains are more costly and require more labor to apply.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row inverse=””][vc_column][trx_title type=”4″ position=”top” top=”small” bottom=”tiny”]Can I put my fountain indoors?[/trx_title][vc_column_text]Due to splashing and possible water damage, all of our fountains are intended for outdoor use only.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row inverse=””][vc_column][trx_title type=”4″ position=”top” top=”small” bottom=”tiny”]I’ve assembled my fountain, put in water, and plugged it in, but it doesn’t work. What could be wrong?[/trx_title][vc_column_text]First, check the pump and make sure it is running. If it is, check that the water flow regulator (either slide or dial) is in the fully open position. If the water flow regulator is turned down, there may not be enough water pressure to push the water to the top of the fountain. Also, make sure that there is no foreign matter obstructing the intake of the pump. Finally, check to make sure that the vinyl tubing connecting the pump to the top of the fountain is not kinked. Also make sure that there is sufficient water to run the fountain. If the fountain level was too low then air could prevent the fountain from pumping out the water properly. Turn the fountain off. Take a garden hose and shoot water from the top or opposite direction the water comes from. This may force the air bubble out and restore the pumping of water to the fountain. Try this two or three times. If it does not work feel free to contact us for troubleshooting.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row inverse=””][vc_column][trx_title type=”4″ position=”top” top=”small” bottom=”tiny”]Should I protect my fountains and statuary during the winter months?[/trx_title][vc_column_text]If you live in an area where freezing occurs, you should take precautions to protect your fountains and statuary during the winter months. Though we use quality materials, we cannot guarantee our products against ice damage. Protect all fountains from freeze-thaw cycles. All cast stone, including cast stone concrete, is slightly porous, which allows very small amounts of moisture to absorb into the surface of the fountain over time. If this moisture freezes, it can cause small cracks or chips. The fountain may be left in severe freezing weather, provided it is covered and/or dry. It is recommended that the pump be brought indoors during periods of freezing weather which causes concrete to break up and disintegrate. You should remove all water from bowls or any area where water may collect. If you cannot disassemble your fountain or statuary and move it out of the elements for winter storage, you should cover the fountain or statue with a plastic tarp. You may want to place burlap or another absorbent material inside the plastic tarp to absorb any condensation. Do NOT allow water to collect in any part of your fountain or statue and do NOT allow your fountain or statue to sit in a pool of water.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row inverse=””][vc_column][trx_title type=”4″ position=”top” top=”small” bottom=”tiny”]What is your return/refunding policy? [/trx_title][vc_column_text]ALL SALES ARE FINAL ON SPECIAL ORDERS. (Unless authorized by the owner, 25% restocking fee will apply, on the total selling price.) In some cases we will allow full store credit regarding the purchase. The final decision is left up to the owner.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row inverse=””][vc_column][trx_title type=”4″ position=”top” top=”small” bottom=”tiny”]For customers living in hard-water or mineral-rich water areas, please read. Very Important!!!!:[/trx_title][vc_column_text]Hard water should be filtered before filling your fountain; you can use a hose-attached prefilter, such as the PreFresh Spa & Pool Water Fill Filter, available online or at a local swimming pool supply store. In areas with severe hard water, only distilled water should be used to fill your fountains. Filtering the water will remove most of the mineral content in hard water, however, lime scale and white residue can still appear on your fountain, which should be removed immediately.

Any white residue (white scale, lime scale, calcium buildup, or efflorescence) that builds up on the fountain should be removed immediately. This buildup is normal and unavoidable in areas with a high mineral content in the local water supply. The best way to remove any white residue would be to gently scrub a mixture of Protec or (CrystalClear-SubLime) and water along the surface of the fountain. A mixture of 1 part white vinegar and 3 parts water will also work and removing any white residue.

Failure to remove any white residue will stain and/or damage the fountain. Pot Farm Backyard does not cover damage from white scale, lime scale, calcium buildup, or efflorescence.

DO NOT PUT CHLORINE OR OTHER POOL CHEMICALS IN YOUR FOUNTAIN. CHLORINE WILL DAMAGE THE PUMP AND DISCOLOR THE CONCRETE. FOUNTAIN AND PUMP DAMAGE DUE TO CHLORINE POT FARM BACKYARD WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
